1:3. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ gô̤ng, Daṳ̍h ū gng: cuh ū gng. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
1:4 Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ kua̍ⁿ ca̤̍ gng sī heô: Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ cuh beong gng gah a̍ng.̤ sĕng gáe̤ cī ciéh nè̤ng gâe̤ng duâi-ĭ táung lâi gó̤, cêu sáung diê-nè̤ng buōng-sê̤ṳ duâi. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
1:5. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ miá ca̤̍ gng ga̤̍u ceo̍ d i̍h-dng, miá ca̤̍ a̍ng ga̤̍u ceo̍ má-láu. Ū má-láu, ū d i̍h-dng; ca̤̍ sī táu seo̍h d i̍h. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
1:6. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ gô̤ng, Cûi do̤-ng da̤u̍h ū ko̤ng-ki, ta̤̍ beong kui siō̤ng hā ē cûi. And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.”
1:7. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ cuh ceo̍ ko̤ng-ki̍, dêng-ni ē cúi gah ko̤ng-ki̍ ō̤-dâ̤ ē cûi du̍i do̤-ng beong kṳ̍; cuh ū ah-na. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.
1:8. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ miá ca̤̍ ko̤ng-ki̍ ga̤̍u Ting. Ū má-láu, ū d i̍h-dng; ca̤̍ sī dā̤-dī d i̍h. God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
1:9. Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ gô̤ng, Ting-ō̤ ciô̤-sā̤ ē cúi, da̤u̍h cṳ̄ seo̍h ūi-chṳ̍̍, sâi le̤̍h-dā̤ hēng chōi: cuh ū ah-na.̤ duâi. And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.
1:10. Ca̤̍ do̤ ē tó Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ miá ga̤̍u Le̤̍h-dā̤; miá cûi cṳ̄ ē ūi-chṳ̍̍ ga̤̍u Hâi: Siō̤ng-Da̤̍ kua̍ⁿ ah-na sī heô. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
